Plant Worker – Electric and Mechanical Skills

CALECO is the largest privately owned commercial laundry equipment provider in the Mid-Atlantic and is hiring a Plant Worker for its West Chester, Pennsylvania facility. This role focuses on preparing, refurbishing, and assembling commercial washers and dryers used across customer locations. If you have hands-on mechanical ability and basic electrical knowledge, this position offers stable pay, training, and long-term union opportunities.

The pay range for this role is $20.57 to $25.00 per hour. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This is an on-site position located in West Chester, PA. Benefits become available after 90 days of successful employment and lead to a union position.

Role Overview

As a Plant Worker, you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and restoring commercial laundry equipment. You will work with washers, dryers, wiring harnesses, payment systems, and mechanical components to ensure each unit is properly prepared for customer use. Training will be provided for electronic setup and device installation.

Key Responsibilities

You will set up washers and dryers by installing wiring harnesses, coin boxes, coin slides, and credit card payment devices. You will be trained to configure electronic components used in modern laundry equipment. You will remove reusable parts from decommissioned machines, retrofit and repair used washers and dryers, and occasionally assist the installation department when required. You will also perform general warehouse tasks related to equipment handling and preparation.

Required Qualifications

You must have basic warehouse experience along with basic electrical and mechanical skills. You must be able to work with tools, wiring, and mechanical assemblies. Preference is given to candidates who live within 30 minutes of West Chester. You must pass a background check and DMV screening.
